Naked Soup!

Bit of a weird name for a restaurant but makes sense once you realise that they are a family owned cafe who serve paninis, sandwiches, all-day breakfast and of course a choice of their speciality soups.
Unlike Singapore, who I personally think is too much of a modern and cosmopolitan city to have the kind of indie and ultimate hipster hang-out places that Glasgow has, Glasgow has these kind of small cafes that are hidden away, off the beaten track, but still serve amazing food. Also, this is the only place I've been to that give you a piece of free fruit with your soup. You get to choose from an orange, and apple or a banana. Way to promote healthy eating guys!

They serve a selection of freshly prepared sandwiches such as roast chicken in a creme fraiche mayo with red onions, coriander, tomatoes and rocket or roasted red peppers with houmous, grated carrots and spinach, as well as toasted paninis which have combinations such as brie with cranberry and grapes. To go along with their sandwiches, paninis and salads they have a daily curry/casserole and of course, daily soups.
What I love about this place is that they do a set lunch deal for £6.40 which includes a panini/sandwich, soup, soft drink and a piece of fresh fruit. That's a pretty good deal right there considering the food is amazing.

I had their set lunch deal today and chose a smoked ham and cheddar panini, lentil, sweet potato and coconut soup, a banana and a lemon san pellegrino.

I don't think there's anything better than having a hot mug of soup and a sandwich on a cold day. Everything was delicious and such a good price for the amount you get and the quality of the food. It's also impressive how they manage to operate such a popular cafe with such a tiny kitchen and a limited number of staff but they do it and their quality of food never falters.

Definitely a good place to come for a lunch break if you're in the West End of Glasgow!
